The Position
The group benefits account manager will manage a large book of business and provide daily critical customer service on a timely manner. They will develop and maintain relationships with employers /employees and always have a clear understanding of their needs. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, organized, accountable, possess team player skills, and will optimize growth within the book of business that they will be overseeing.
Job Skills and Requirements
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience managing and servicing group benefit accounts
- A valid CA Life & Health License
- Extensive knowledge of products, carriers, general agencies and insurance plans, including, but not limited to life, health, disability, long-term care, dental and vision
- Excellent communication, presentation and relationship building skills
- Knowledge of Applied EPIC, EASE, SignalSync, Adobe Acrobat Pro, DocuSign and Office 365 including Word, Excel & Teams
- Experience reviewing group benefits plans across multiple states, identifying needs and marketing to general agencies and direct with insurance carriers
- Ability to analyze multiple carrier options and present solutions matched to client needs
- Prioritize tasks and deliver in a fast-paced working environment
Responsibilities
- Primary contact for marketing, servicing and renewing of group benefit accounts
- Educate clients about their group benefit plans and coverages
- Maintain a current valid life and health license including commitment to continuous education and attend appropriate carrier and agency training sessions as needed
- Assist with new employee enrollments, provide rate sheets, summary of benefits and enrollment paperwork
- Manage and update Applied EPIC and EASE platforms
- Determine customers’ requirements, collect company and employee information and offer tailored and suitable insurance options
- Responsible for maintaining and managing client and carrier documents
- Attending client meetings, both virtually and in-person
- Create benefit proposals for new clients and assist with renewals
- Collaborate with sales plans and strategies
- Independently and reliably provide problem resolution around complex client issues
- Develop and maintain excellent client and carrier relationships
